Freightliner Condor 2000 is a legendary truck. Freightliner Trucks is an American truck manufacturer and brand from Daimler Trucks North America LLC. It is the largest heavy truck manufacturer in North America. Freightliner was acquired by Daimler-Benz in 1981 and has since been part of the Daimler Group. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Production facilities are located in the United States and Mexico.
The history of Freightliner began when Leland James, Managing Director of Consolidated Freightways, decided to build his own truck for his forwarding business. In 1939, “Freightways Manufacturing Corp.” as a subsidiary company in Salt Lake City (Utah) was founded. A year later, the first own truck of the CF-100 type with a diesel engine was completed. Freightliner was registered as a trademark. In Germany, Freightliner tractors are especially known as Coca-Cola Christmas trucks.
In May 2015, the model based on the Cascadia Evolution Inspiration Truck model received a license for road traffic in Nevada, the USA. It made it the first self-contained Daimler truck, which can travel along public roads. The company employs 19,000 people. The products are exported to 35 countries.
Since 2005, the company is the largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in North America with an annual income of 32 billion US $. Despite the fact that according to the criteria of the Fortune 500 rating of the largest US companies Freightliner could take 125th place, it is listed in the rating, as Freightliner is the property of the non-American company Daimler AG.
