BMW E36 Alpina was introduced at the end of 1990. In advertising she received the nickname Ultimate Driving Machine. Headlights was her first eye-catching distinction. Previous models had round twin headlights, and in E36 they became a single glazed unit. Also the sedan added in sizes, due to what the interior became more spacious. At the same time the body became smoother and sportier. The coupé and hatchback were added to the body types of the previous E36 models.

The weakest of them M40 is on 316i and 318i, which allows to accelerate to 100 km in 12.7 seconds and develop a maximum speed of up to 195 km. The most powerful is the modification of the 328i, which has 193 hp. And accelerating to 100 km / h in 7.3 seconds. Its maximum speed is 236 km. The engines can be petrol and diesel, but the latter decently are inferior in speed.
Motors BMW E36 Alpina were equipped with a timing gear and are very reliable. Thanks to the rear multi-link suspension the car is stable at high speeds and well enters the turns. The steering wheel has a hydraulic amplifier. The control can be in the form of a 5-speed mechanics or a 4-speed automatic. The automatic control has winter and sports modes. The fuel consumption is an average of 8 liters.
