Not all passenger Jacks will become Muscovites. The Chinese company JAC continues to work in the Russian market and announced the start of sales of another model. Although in fact this is far from a novelty. The unfamiliar JAC JS3 index hides a restyled version of the JAC S3 SUV, which appeared back in 2014, was delivered to Russia and participated in a comparative Car review test. In its current form, the JAC JS3 has been produced since 2019, but such crossovers have only come to us now.
From the original S3 model, the crossover with the JS3 index differs in a completely new front part of the body with two-story optics (halogen main headlights), as well as a redesigned stern. In size, this JAC is comparable to the Hyundai Creta or Chery Tiggo 4 Pro models: length — 4345 mm, wheelbase — 2560 mm. The declared trunk volume is as much as 600 liters.
The interior was also changed during the restyling process. The front panel is completely different, but the JAC JS3 still has analog instruments, and the steering wheel is adjustable only in height. The optional media system has a 10.25-inch screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces.
In the Russian market, the JAC JS3 is offered only with a 1.6 four-cylinder atmospheric engine (109 hp, 150 Nm). There is a choice of six-speed “mechanics” and a V-belt variator Punch. The drive is only front, the rear suspension is semi—independent, and the passport ground clearance is only 155 mm. The maximum speed is 180 km/h, regardless of the gearbox.
The JAC JS3 in the basic Comfort configuration is offered only with a manual transmission. The equipment includes two airbags, ESP, air conditioning, radio with USB connector, cruise control, rear parking sensors, electric drive and heated mirrors. Such a crossover costs 1 million 799 thousand rubles.
The Luxury version also has leather upholstery, climate control, a media system, a rear-view camera and an electric mirror folding drive. Such a JAC with “mechanics” costs 1 million 899 thousand rubles, and with a variator — 1 million 999 thousand rubles. The prices are relatively attractive, because a much more compact Livan X3 Pro with a variator now costs 1 million 880 thousand, and for the aforementioned Chery Tiggo 4 Pro they are now asking from 2 million 120 thousand rubles.
