The familiar HiPhi Z sedan impresses us already in the basic version. This all-wheel drive electric car has a defiant design, two engines with a total capacity of 672 hp and a traction battery with a capacity of 120 kWh, which provides a power reserve of 705 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. But for those who do not have enough of such characteristics, Human Horizons has offered an even more “evil” version, which is positioned as a separate model of HiPhi A.
The external differences of Model A are quite typical for such projects. Aggressive tail, unique wheels, a large two-story spoiler on the trunk lid. The new elements are made not only of carbon fiber, but also of a special “marble” material. The interior is also solved in a similar way: there is an abundance of carbon fiber elements and four separate “buckets” with integrated headrests.
The main innovations of the Model A lie in technical improvements. Electric motors are now not two, but three: the rear wheels have a separate drive with the ability to control the thrust vector. Carbon fiber and oil cooling were used in the design of the engines themselves, which made it possible to achieve enviable indicators: the maximum total power reaches 1305 hp, and this indicator can be maintained for 30 minutes.
The battery pack is equipped with a carbon fiber protective coating, and the maximum output power of the battery reaches 1.5 MW, more than exceeding the power of electric motors (960 kW). All these tricks have made it possible to achieve impressive dynamic characteristics. It is stated that acceleration to 100 km / h takes less than two seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 300 km/ h! These indicators are comparable to the capabilities of the Tesla Model S Plaid liftback.
What else? Unique aluminum alloys and ceramics are used in the chassis design. The parts are made by 3D printing, and the Shanghai University of Science and Technology helped in their development and manufacture. A reconfigured air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers, carbon-ceramic brake discs and a reference axle weight (50:50) promise precise handling and confident behavior at high speed.
It is expected that HiPhi A will be released in a limited edition. But production and acceptance of orders will begin only in the first quarter of 2025. The price has not yet been announced, but it will definitely be noticeably more than the top version of the HiPhi Z sedan (87 thousand dollars).
