Geely returns the sedan to the Russian range — this is the third-generation Emgrand, introduced in 2021, and we have already told about its pedigree. It is built on the same modular BMA platform (developed by Geely and Volvo) as Coolray: front—wheel drive, rear — semi-independent suspension.
In size, it is a classmate of the Toyota Corolla or Hyundai Elantra models: length — 4638 mm, width — 1822 mm, height — 1460 mm. The claimed ground clearance in the Russian specification is 151 mm, all disc brakes, steering wheel — with electric power. The trunk volume is 500 liters. Cars with a four-cylinder 1.5 atmospheric engine (122 hp, 152 Nm) will be delivered to us, and Emgrand does not have turbo engines in principle, although there is a hybrid version on the Chinese market (there is also a naturally aspirated engine under its hood).
The main difference between cars for Russia from those sold in China or Belarus is a classic six—speed “automatic” instead of a variator. The basic transmission is a five—speed “mechanics”. Moreover, according to the passport, the three-speed version is slower than the “automatic”: acceleration to 100 km / h takes 12.9 s instead of 12.6 s. The maximum speed does not depend on the gearbox: 180 km / h. Plus, cars with “automatic” have three modes of driving electronics (Eco, Comfort, Sport).
In Russia, Geely Emgrand is offered in four trim levels at prices of 2.0—2.5 million rubles (excluding discounts for credit or trade-in). The Standard version includes two airbags, ESP, air conditioning, a media system with an eight—inch screen, Bluetooth, power windows and mirrors with electric drive and heating. Such an Emgrand has steel 15-inch wheels, but already “in the base” the steering column is adjustable in height and departure, and the back of the second row is divided in the proportion of 60:40 (not all Chinese sedans can boast of this).
Comfort equipment has heated front seats and windshield washer nozzles, rear parking sensors, light sensor, USB connectors on the second row, and the driver’s seat has expanded adjustments. The Comfort version with “automatic” is equipped with noticeably richer: single-zone climate control, keyless entry and remote engine start systems, an electromechanical handbrake, automatic window lifter mode and a tire pressure monitoring system have been added.
The attributes of the Luxury package are LED headlights (instead of halogens), a rear—view camera, cruise control, a heated leather steering wheel, 16-inch alloy wheels and heated windshield wipers in the rest area. Finally, the Flagship version includes six airbags, virtual appliances (12.3 inches), an enlarged media system screen (also 12.3 inches), leather seat upholstery, electric driver’s seat, extended illumination, sunroof, electric folding mirrors and 17-inch wheels.

For comparison: the BAIC U5 Plus sedan with an atmospheric 1.5 (105 hp) now costs from 2045,000 rubles (there are “mechanics” and a variator to choose from), the Omoda S5 is estimated at at least 2 million 320 thousand rubles, but it has a variator already “in the base”. The rest of the Chinese classmates sold here are offered only with turbo engines, although, for example, the JAC J7 liftback with a 1.5 turbo (136 hp) and a manual transmission costs at the Emgrand level: from 2 million 129 thousand rubles. Geely dealers should have Chinese-made sedans by the end of November.
