The Jaecoo brand, which is part of the extensive family of brands of the Chinese company Chery, appeared on the Russian market quite recently. So far, it is represented by the only Jaecoo J7 model, but very soon the range will be expanded. Three premieres have been announced for 2024. Although there is only one full—fledged novelty of them – this is the large Jaecoo J8 crossover (pictured).
In China, this car debuted earlier this year, but there it is called the Chery Tiggo 9. After all, the Jaecoo brand was created specifically for export and is not used in the Chinese market. The Chinese version is 4,820 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,699 mm high. The wheelbase is 2820 mm. The J8 will be delivered to Russia with a two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 249 hp, all-wheel drive and CDC adaptive suspension.
The seven-seat cabin boasts nappa leather upholstery and a single panel that houses instrument screens and media systems (12.3 inches each). The contoured LED interior lighting has been announced, having 256 different colors. Sales of the J8 model are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024.
The other two announced new items are electrified versions of the Jaecoo J7 and Jaecoo J8 crossovers. The rechargable hybrids will be called Jaecoo J7 PHEV and Jaecoo J8 PHEV. Their parameters have not yet been disclosed, but we can assume a close technical relationship with the models already sold here Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Plug-in Hybrid and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid. Hybrid Jaecoos are expected in the second and third quarters of next year, respectively.
