Mercedes-Benz made two announcements at once today. The first is the planned upgrade of the “charged” compact crossover Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4Matic+. The basic GLA was upgraded last spring, but the turn has reached the top version only now. Moreover, of the two “forty—fifths”, only one remained in service – the most powerful GLA 45 S. The variant without the prefix S is retired.
Like all GLAS, the most extreme version has changed optics (front and rear) and bumpers. Also, the plastic molding on the wheel arches, which used to be only black, is now painted in the body color. On the hood, a badge with the AMG logo took the place of the emblem with a three-pointed star.
There are no noticeable changes in the interior, except for the updated MBUX multimedia system. Alcantara—sheathed new AMG Performance steering wheel with double side spokes – almost like the restyled E-class generation W213. In addition, several new color combinations of seat upholstery are available for the updated GLA 45 S, and a new material is offered for decorative inserts — porous basswood.
The technical component remains the same: the crossover is equipped with the same two-liter turbo engine M139 (421 hp, 500 Nm), an eight-speed “robot” AMG Speedshift DCT-8G with two wet clutches and all-wheel drive AMG Performance 4Matic+ with individual rear wheel couplings. The updated “forty-fifths” will be on sale in a few months.
And Mercedes-Benz has also announced European prices for the E-class All-Terrain cross-station wagon of the S214 generation: its debut took place in September. The off-road “yeshka” already in the basic configuration will have an air suspension, a circular viewing system with a “transparent bottom”, keyless access, heated front seats (in Europe you usually have to pay extra for it), adaptive cruise control and other options. At the start of sales, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, three modifications will be offered. Mercedes-Benz E 220 d 4Matic with a two-liter turbodiesel (197 hp) costs from 74078 euros, a rechargable hybrid E 300 de 4Matic (326 hp) is estimated at at least 81753 euros, and for a gasoline E 450 4Matic with an inline “six” (381 hp) you will have to pay at least 89191 euros.
