The extraordinary Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck was first shown to the general public back in 2019, and then prices in the range of 40-70 thousand dollars were promised. But at the presentation of the serial version at the beginning of the month, a completely different price fork was announced: from 61 thousand to 100 thousand dollars. And this is not the limit! According to information that appeared on American social networks, some customers who ordered Cybertruck received an e-mail “letter of happiness” from Tesla with an offer to reissue the order for a special welcome version of the Foundation Series. Curiously, Foundation is the name of a series of science fiction novels by Isaac Asimov, which Elon Musk referred to as his favorite works in this genre.
The welcome version is based on the most powerful three-engine modification Cyberbeast, which costs 100 thousand dollars. But almost all available options and accessories are included in the equipment: FSD autopilot, Premium Connectivity lifetime online subscription, Universal Wall Connector charger, Powershare Home Backup system (allows you to power the power grid at home from an electric car) and off-road tires, as well as exclusive laser engraving. The list does not include, except that the branded “travel extension”, that is, an additional battery in the body: you still have to pay another 15 thousand dollars for it.
The Tesla Cybertruck Foundation Series pickup truck is estimated at 120 thousand dollars, that is, an increase of 20 thousand! Moreover, the main value of the welcome version is not in additional charges and laser engravings. According to InsideEVs, the Foundation Series version will be released in a limited edition of 1000 copies, which will be given to customers as a priority before the New Year! Deliveries of the machines have already begun, but only in two states — Texas and California.
