The official presentation of the full-size pickup Ford Lobo 2006 took place in Detroit. The car was significantly transformed externally and internally. Also it received many technical improvements. Serial production of the car lasted until 2008. Ford Lobo 2006 is a full-size frame pick-up truck. The car is available with three cab variants – double, single and extended cab. Depending on the modification, the length of the car varies from 5364 to 5380 mm. But the other parameters are the same in all cases: width – 2004 mm, height – 1874 mm, wheelbase – 3200 mm.
The car was equipped with a diverse range of gasoline atmospheric engines. For the pickup, six- and eight-cylinder units with a V-shaped configuration of 4.2-5.4 liters were available. They maximally produce from 202 to 304 horsepower and 342 to 495 Nm of torque. In tandem with the engines, only one gearbox functions – a 4-speed “automatic”. However there are two drive variants – rear or full.
Ford Lobo 2006 has front mounted independent suspension with double wishbones, columns and screw springs. The rear suspension is dependent scheme with reinforced leaf springs. In all versions the car is equipped with hydraulic power steering and a powerful braking system with ventilated discs on all wheels. Also there is an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
Positive features of the pickup are high reliability, unpretentiousness in service, appearance, good roadability, comfortable and roomy interior, powerful engines and good dynamics. In contrast the negative side – high fuel consumption and impressive external dimensions, making it difficult to move along narrow streets.
